Help & safety
Quick answers about posting, searching, and messaging — plus how to trade safely.
Trading safely
Card Swap Central is built for local, in-person trading. Following a few simple habits keeps every deal safe: meet in public during the day, keep conversations on the site, inspect cards before anything changes hands, and never mail a card or send payment ahead. If a deal ever feels off, it's fine to walk away.
Meet in person, in a public place
Every trade on Card Swap Central is local on purpose. Meet during the day at busy public spots — police station parking lots, local card shops, or well-trafficked coffee shops are all good choices. For higher-value cards, bring a friend along.
Never mail cards to someone you just met
If a buyer or trader asks you to ship first, or offers to mail you payment or a card, that's the single biggest scam in card trading. Politely decline and stick to meeting face to face. No exceptions, no matter the offer.
Inspect the card before money or cards change hands
Look over the card carefully — centering, corners, surface, and any grading case. Compare prices against recent sales so you know what a fair deal looks like. Pay in cash or with an instant transfer at the meetup, never before.
Watch for red flags
Be cautious of anyone pushing to move the conversation to text or another app, offering far above asking price, paying by check or overpayment, or asking for gift cards, codes, or your login. When in doubt, walk away.
Card Swap Central introduces collectors — deals are between you
We connect local collectors and keep messaging on the site, but we don't hold, ship, verify, grade, or guarantee any card or payment. Every buy or trade is made directly between the two collectors, in person. If something goes wrong or someone acts suspiciously, tell us through the feedback page so we can look into it.
